We Are GGS!

Gurnee Grade School is a kindergarten through eighth grade option school within Gurnee District #56.  We offer the same curriculum as our sister schools in the district, however the delivery may be different due to the configuration of our grade levels.  We have full day kindergarten, multi-age 2^nd and 3^rd grade, multi-age 4^th and 5^th grade, and a full middle school program.

As a Gurnee Grade School community, we pride ourselves in the family we have created.  We care for one another and treat each other with respect and dignity.  We rely on every member of our family to be productive and helpful to each other and our community at large.

Students who wish to attend Gurnee Grade School must complete an application, which can be found on our website, and must be a currently enrolled District #56 student.  We start accepting kindergarten applications for the following school year in January of that year.

We have an ordered waiting list at every grade level.  The process of placing students within Gurnee Grade School from the wait list occurs over the summer months as we fill spots that have become available. We have found this provides a natural transition for students transferring between District 56 schools. Parents will be contacted once their child’s name comes to the top of the list and an opening occurs.  We will also contact those on our waiting list every spring to ensure you wish to remain on our waiting list.
